Embracing Sustainability from Manufacturing to Installation and Clean-Up
At BYLTup, we recognize the importance of responsible manufacturing. That's why we're proud to partner with GAF, a company that shares our commitment to sustainability. Their 2030 Planet Goals focus on operational improvements, products, innovation, and inspiring others to address the critical climate issues of our time. As industry leaders, they consider the long-term impact of our business on the health of our planet, which parallels our own sustainability goals for the future. When we look at GAF's efforts towards water sustainability through their recycling program in their Shafter, CA plant, it is clear that they follow through with their promises to the planet.
For example, GAF’s Shafter program is a 100% closed-loop water system. The system redirects over five million gallons of processed water annually from the reverse osmosis purification system back into the Shafter community instead of discharging it to the public sewer utility. This repurposed water is now used as cooling makeup water in the manufacturing process, effectively recycling water and reducing strain on the city's sewer utility. The closed-loop system has led to a notable decrease in water consumption, saving an average of 194,000 gallons per month. This initiative not only benefits the local community but also contributes to national food production.
We can’t help but be even more proud of our partnership with them. We can only hope that our close relationship with GAF can result in creating our own similarly impactful strides in technology that improve the lives of our customers in such a meaningful and holistic way.
Even when the projects are finished, BYLTup has found an alternative to divert certain scrap materials from landfills. Thanks to innovative partnerships with like-minded companies, we've found a way to repurpose roofing waste, contributing to a circular economy- a loop similar to GAF’s Shafter loop water system. Instead of disposal, these materials are transformed into valuable resources, paving the way for a more sustainable future.

Protecting the Roots of Our Business
As a business that works with lumber daily on projects, we must take care of the resources that our business depends on. That’s why BYLTup proudly partners with One Tree Planted and their reforestation efforts. For every signed contract and every reroof, maintenance check, inspection, and solar service we provide, BYLTup donates $1 to plant a tree and help California’s forests recover from wildfires. We recognize that trees play a crucial role in carbon absorption, helping to mitigate climate change by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere, and by supporting reforestation efforts, we are not only aiding in the recovery of ecosystems but also contributing to the fight against climate change.
Our partnership with One Tree Planted allows us to align our business values with our environmental goals. It's not just about providing top-notch roofing and solar solutions, nor is there any political motive for us– it's about being stewards of the environment and giving back to the planet that sustains us. Since we opened our doors over one year ago, we have planted 1500+ trees, and are expected to plant an additional 1000 by the end of 2024!
