From shingle training to open-flame torch training, and single-ply training in materials like PVC and TPO, we hold regular training sessions every few months for our roofing installation crews and ongoing in-house sales training for our project managers. This rigorous training cycle applies to everyone—whether you've been in the field for a month or a decade. We believe that continual learning helps prevent bad habits from forming and keeps us at the forefront of quality and workmanship.

For example, our partnerships with industry leaders like GAF and IB Roof Systems ensure that our employees are always up to date with the latest technical specs and warranty requirements. Promoting from Within: Real Success Stories at BYLTup

Take Dom Thornton, for example. His story with BYLTup began when he transitioned from a different industry, having previously worked with our CEO. Despite having no construction experience, Trevor saw potential in Dom and hired him as a production assistant. From there, Dom quickly advanced to assistant production manager and then to production manager. When Jose Navarro joined the team and proved to be a perfect fit for the production management position, Dom transitioned into a project management (sales) role. In less than two years, Dom has excelled in his project management role and is on path to elevate into a regional project management role in the near future. Dom is now beginning to learn how to train and manage new project managers in the company and continues to expand his role and influence within BYLTup’s growth strategy.

Jose Navarro’s Path: On the operational side, Jose is following a similar path of growth. After attending a GAF commercial Roofing Academy training, Jose was hired into BYLTup and stepped into our production manager role, where he has quickly made an impact. So much so that Jose is now being positioned for a mid-management role in operations and has already taken on the responsibility of training two new hires in the production side, Alec Hurst and Andrew Gomez, both new hires with no prior roofing experience. Under Jose’s guidance, Alec and Andrew are learning the ropes, supporting our installation crews in the field, coordinating with our various suppliers and becoming experts in the roofing trade. 

Erica Foley's Leadership and Success: Erica's journey is another shining example of how BYLTup values hard work and dedication to the company. Erica came into BYLTup as our first hire and with previous roofing administration experience. She has consistently proven her worth to the company with every single client and contract being touched by Erica in some form or fashion. Erica is not only training additional admin technicians, but she also has complete oversight of all of our administrative and accounting functions. Her contributions have not gone unnoticed—she has now earned equity in the company as a partner and continues to grow her role and career within BYLTup.
